Knowledge, skills and abilities are required to stand out from the rest when holding a state office, and if you’re a man on top of all that, then many issues will be solved more easily, even though women also find ways of solving those issues. Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Hranush Hakobyan revealed the most important guarantees for women holding state offices in an interview with “ArmenPress”.  

The Ministry of Diaspora is the youngest of the ministries in Armenia. When it first opened its doors, many doubted that its existence would be justified. What has the ministry achieved throughout the past several years of its existence? To what extent has it contribute to the strengthening and development of the Homeland-Diaspora relations? RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan answered these questions during an interview. 

On January 23, the French Senate adopted the bill criminalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide. The bill was adopted with 127 “for” and 86 “against”.

The year is drawing to an end, and “Hayern Aysor”’s correspondent sat down for an interview with Head of the Department of Armenian Communities of the CIS at the RA Ministry of Diaspora Andranik Arshakyan to discuss the department’s achievements, the programs that have been implemented and future plans.

The Department of Media and Public Relations at the RA Ministry of Diaspora reflects upon the ministry’s activities and contributes to the formation of public opinion. 

In 2011, the department provided coverage of the ministry’s 37 events through mass media in Armenia and the Diaspora with 16-18 presses and 7 press conferences (2 by the RA Minister of Diaspora, 1 by the Deputy Minister, 4 with the participation of the press secretary and the heads of departments). The department also prepared 109 press releases and distributed them to mass media through e-mail. It studied 1,074 materials of local and Diaspora Armenian presses shedding light on the ministry’s activities and placed them in archives (833 in local media and 241 in Diaspora Armenian media), conducted 29 interviews with the RA Minister of Diaspora, the Deputy Minister and the heads of departments and carried out several other activities.

In 2011, alongside several programs and events, the Department of Repatriation and Research at the RA Ministry of Diaspora also organized three conferences and two scientific conferences.
