Celebration dedicated to the First Republic of Armenia On May 26, 2012, the ARF-D Fiks “Aram Manukyan” Committee will organize a celebration dedicated to the independence of the First Republic of Armenia at Arakelyan-Kivtenyan Stadium in Fiks. Among the participants will be the Hamazkayin’s Dance Group, as well as Primate of the Greek-Armenian Diocese of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia, Bishop Khoren Toghramajian and members of the Greek-Armenian community.

Event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the liberation of Shushi in Lebanon On May 5, Hamazkayin Regional Committee Lebanon organized an event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the liberation of Shushi at the American University in Beirut with a performance by Karkach Children’s and Youth Choirs. The event was attended by musician from Armenia Ivan Vardanyan and RA Ambassador to Lebanon Ashot Kocharyan.

Book about Byzantine Princess Anna of Armenian origin to be presented in Kiev On May 15, Ukrainian historian Nadezhda Nikitenko will present her book entitled “From Tsargrad to Kiev: Anna Porfirorodnaya: Wise, or Cursed?” in which Nikitenko presents a detailed story about the Armenian roots of Princess Anna.

Hye Geen’s 7th Annual Conference Uses Arts and Design to Connect Southern California Students with Armenian Heritage This spring, AGBU Hye Geen brought together some of the leading voices in the arts and design industry for its 7th annual interdisciplinary conference series, “The Status of Armenian Communities Living in the United States.” Coordinated by Hye Geen’s Young Circle, the 2012 event was held on Saturday, March 10, at Woodbury University in Southern California and was organized under the heading of “Symbolism in Art, Architecture and Design.” 14.05.2012
Opening of Armenian cross-stone in Pavia On May 9, RA Ambassador to Italy Ruben Karapetyan visited Pavia to participate in the opening of an Armenian cross-stone at the historical Visconteo Fortress in Pavia (Castello Visconteo di Pavia) in light of Victory Day, as well as the 20th anniversaries of the liberation of Shushi and the formation of the NKR Defense Army.
