Renowned children’s writer, playwright, RA Distinguished Cultural Figure Suren Muradyan also participated in the Pan-Armenian Conference of Writers. One of the representatives of the elder generation of Armenian writers says he is very motivated by the conference.

The 6th Pan-Armenian Conference of Writers organized by the RA Ministry of Diaspora and the Union of Writers of Armenia kicked off on April 20. “Hayern Aysor”’s correspondent sat down for an interview with President of the Union of Writers of Artsakh, Armenia’s distinguished cultural figure, poet Vardan Hakobyan.

“Artur Ispiryan is one of Armenia’s best and beloved singers. He is famous in his genre and sets the level of modern Armenian pop music. You won’t see him on the covers of glamorous magazines, and he doesn’t want to “be on television” in any way. He always expresses his civic stance, whether it regards the current realities or modern Armenian music.” This is how top song expert Suren Aramyan once described the singer. Coming on to the music scene in the 1980s, singer Artur Ispiryan quickly became one of the most beloved and famous singers. That is the reason why no modern music concert was held without Artur Ispiryan in the 1980s and 90s. Everyone listened with pleasure and waited impatiently for his covers of famous foreign songs. Artur has even recorded an entire album of his covers of Stevie Wonder’s songs.

The “My Armenia” Pan-Armenian Cultural Festival has a special place among the several events of the RA Ministry of Diaspora in 2012 and will include various types of events. As presented in the working plan of the RA Ministry of Diaspora for the year 2012, the goal of the festival is to contribute to the expansion of opportunities for cooperation between Armenia and the Diaspora and within the Diaspora; the preservation and development of Armenian culture and cultural identity in the Diaspora, as well as support the deepening of cultural ties between young creators in Armenia and the Diaspora and the development and implementation of joint programs.

The H. Ghaplanyan Dramatic Theater recently celebrated the 60th birthday-anniversary of actor of the H. Ghaplanyan Dramatic Theater, TV actor, recipient of the RA State Award GRIGOR GABRIELYAN. The actor was awarded the Gold Medal of the Union of Theater Figures of Armenia. Head of the Department of the History of Armenian Language at Yerevan State University, doctor of philological sciences Ruben Sakapetoyan is one of the supporters of the Armenian language. Throughout the years, Ruben Sakapetoyan has led an incessant struggle against the distortion of the mother language as a lecturer and during the television program called “Our Language, Our Speech” broadcast on Public Television during the years of the Soviet Union.
